Vocational relevance. The identified training need must be related to the group’s current roles in a Midlands Innovation University. You must demonstrate that the knowledge and skills gained from the training will assist in helping you successfully carry out your roles. The application form requires you to specifically identify these job-related gains.
Support from line manager. It is important that each group member has the support for the planned activity from their line manager who agrees that there is a job-related gain and is prepared, where appropriate, to ensure that the time is given to attend the training. The application requires line manager input.
Details of proposed activity. In your application, you must supply full details of the training you are bidding for. This must include details of the associated cost and any travel expenses.
Over the course of the 4-year TALENT project, we will offer 16 awards.
The bids for each award must be from groups of technicians who represent at least 3 Midlands Innovation Universities. Training is expected to be delivered by external providers, technicians themselves or through the TALENT project directly, as appropriate.
