Beginners guide to personality preferences

Further details on the courses and dates are below:

Introduction to Unconscious Bias

This workshop is designed to allow technical staff to explore where Unconscious Bias may be having an impact in their interactions with others, and to discuss what can be done to reduce the impact of Unconscious Bias in the future. This will not be a traditional training session – the trainer will not be going into depth on what Unconscious Bias is, instead the focus will be on facilitating conversations around where it may be having an impact and on practical steps we can take to mitigate the effects of Unconscious Bias.

This workshop will include the use of breakout rooms for you to share your thoughts, ideas and experiences and to hear from others across the eight Midlands Innovation Universities.

There is some pre-session work for you to complete before the workshop, this is to help everyone to get the most out of the live session.

Target Audience: Any member of staff who is interested in identifying and mitigating the effects of Unconscious Bias in their work area.

In this session we will:

  • Discuss where unconscious bias may be having an impact in our workplace
  • Discuss actions we can take to reduce the impact of unconscious bias
  • Identify suitable next steps for us to take as individuals

Location: Online

Duration: 90 minutes (Approximately 30 minutes pre-session activity)

Beginners guide to personality preferences

This workshop is designed to introduce the four pairs of personality preferences within the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) tool. During this workshop we will discuss the differences between personality preferences and how knowledge of the different preferences can be used to better understand and work with those around us.

There is no pre-session work required and you do not need to know your own MBTI preferences before attending this workshop, although this would be beneficial. However please be aware that this workshop is intended as a general introduction to the MBTI preferences and how we can apply this knowledge in the workplace. We will not identify specific personal preferences during the session, or diagnose individual personality type.

Target Audience: Any member of staff who is interested in understanding personality preferences and how this knowledge can be applied in the workplace.

In this session we will:

  • Introduce the four MBTI personality preference pairs
  • Discuss how we can apply our knowledge of these preferences in the workplace

Location: Online

Duration: Two hours

Thursday 25 February 2021, 2pm

or

Monday 12 April 2021, 2pm
